L5 Mobility Study
The L5P Community Improvement District and L5P Alliance are happy to announce that Lord Aeck Sargent have been selected for the L5P Smart Mobility Project.
In March of 2019, the L5PCID submitted a grant proposal to the Atlanta Regional Commission for a LCI (Livable Community Initiatives) supplemental study of the 10 year update to the Moreland Avenue Corridor.

GA Tech Studio
The L5P Alliances and it’s members, have supported the Georgia Tech Design Studio of Masters level planning students to conduct a “Studio” for Little 5 Points. The Studio is made up of 6-8 graduate students drawing from the disciplines of city and regional planning, urban design, civil engineering, and architecture.
Working with the CID and the Alliance, the students are studying issues such as transportation elements, right-of-way design that includes relevant travel modes, property access, traffic control, travel speeds, and streetscape improvement measures.

Sidewalk Dining
Sidewalk cafes have become commonplace in urban areas around the country and Atlanta is making plans to allow them. The plan has support from the head of the city’s leading pedestrian group, who views outdoor seating as enlivening streetscapes.
Although sidewalk cafes would reduce pedestrian access to sidewalks, the trade-off is worth it – unlike the trade-off for scooters, which endanger folks who use sidewalks when the scooters are operated by irresponsible riders, Sally Flocks, president and CEO of PEDS, said Thursday.
“Having outdoor cafes is a positive, in terms of having a community feeling and a friendly environment, and having people to smile at when you walk by,” Flocks said.

Little Five Points Community Improvement District
Grant amount: $100,000
The Little Five Points CID, in cooperation with the city of Atlanta, will develop a plan to redesign Euclid Avenue through the area’s commercial district from Austin Avenue to Moreland Avenue, focusing on pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, wayfinding, greenspace and green infrastructure, technology-based parking management, and other smart city technologies.
