L5 Mobility Study

The L5P Community Improvement District and L5P Alliance are happy to announce that Lord Aeck Sargent has been selected for the L5P Smart Mobility Project being officially called L5 Mobility Study.

In March of 2019, the L5PCID submitted a proposal to the Atlanta Regional Commission for a LCI (Livable Community Initiatives) grant to supplement the study of the 10 year update to the Moreland Avenue Corridor.

We were awarded $100,000 in May for the L5P Smart Mobility Project to study Euclid Avenue and it’s intersections with Moreland Avenue. This grant will allow the L5PCID to utilize $190,000 of Renew Atlanta/TSPLOST funds originally marked for a complete street for Euclid Avenue. The goal is to design the projects to shovel-ready designs to enable the L5PCID to be first in line when funds for street improvements become available.

A committee was formed to create a RFP (Request for Proposal) for consultant firms and put out the request in October. See the RFP and firms that submitted proposals.

After interviews and committee review of all proposals and pitch decks, Lord Aeck Sargent were chosen as the best firm for the project within our budget of $290,000. LAS was the firm to develop the Husley Yard Master Plan.

Now that the contract is signed with Lord Aeck Sargent, the steering committee is getting started with our first meeting the week of January 13, 2020.

An extensive community engagement strategy is in place. The first open house will take place Thursday February 20-February 22nd. Please email info@l5pa.com to be added to all meeting invites and follow L5PAlliance on Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date.
