Kombucha is tangy and tasty, but did you know that it gets that way through the hard work of millions of microbes? Join Dr. Jennifer Leavey from Georgia Tech and Lupa Irie N.D. of Lupa’s Kitchen for a hands-on, interactive demonstration of kombucha fermentation—including samples!

Explore the world of living organisms that produce one of the world's favorite beverages: beer! We will focus on the different ways beer can be made tart and refreshing from centuries old ways of cultivating wild yeast to new fangled lactic souring techniques. Learn about the types of bacteria (good and bad) that can grow in beer and how all of these things affect the flavor! Fee includes tastings.
