We created this annual fundraiser in 2022 to bring neighbors, business owners, community leaders, and property owners together to raise funds for our organization’s key goal - creating a more safe, welcoming, and vibrant L5P by focusing on issues around
For 2025 we'll be highlighting the importance of arts & culture to the L5P identity as we honor the individuals below.
2025 Awardees
Don Bender Legacy Award In recognition of an individual who has demonstrated a legacy commitment to the sustainability, promotion, and invigoration of Little 5 Points.
Lisa & Jeff Adler, Horizon Theatre
As founders of Horizon Theatre, Lisa and Jeff have been building a creative community in Little 5 Points and greater Atlanta since 1983. Horizon provides an artistic home for local actors, directors, and designers to work, grow and collaborate. Both Lisa and Jeff have also been strong advocates for greater investment in the arts for decades.
UPlift Award In recognition of a resident, organization, elected official, property owner, or business owner that shows above and beyond commitment to the betterment and future of L5P.
Lauren Amos, Wish Atlanta
Founder Lauren Amos brought a focus on fashion, culture, and community to L5P with the creation of Wish Atlanta along with partner Julie Hogg. This women-owned business brought a new level of cultural relevance to L5P more than 20 years ago, and Lauren continues to have a significant impact on culture in Atlanta and internationally.
Councilmember Amir Farokhi
As councilmember for District 2, Amir Farokhi has helped advocate for greater investment in Little 5 Points as well as a renewed focus on arts and culture in our community and citywide. His support has helped ensure L5P remains on the minds of policymakers and that our city leadership values culture.
In Memoriam - REmembering Those WE’ve Lost
Angela Carrington
Angela was a longtime member of L5P’s Seed & Feed Marching Abominable as well as a decades-long neighbor in Inman Park. Most well-known for her flamboyant costumes at the front of every band performance, Angela was fiercly passionate about her community and was involved with the Stop the Road movement in the 1980s. Angela ran a family daycare that became the Mary Lin Elementary School aftercare program where she helped raise many kids from both Inman and Candler Park.
Harry DeMille
Harry was co-founder of the oldest vinyl store in L5P, Wax n’ Facts. He and Danny Beard built their early inventory from yard sales and bought the building in 1987. A graduate of Druid Hills High School, Harry lived almost his entire life in Atlanta and was known by many to be generous with his musical knowledge and a friendly fixture in L5P.
