ARTS & CULTURE

A SPace that’s welcoming to all…

Little 5 Points is an authentic arts and culture district with 5 performing arts organizations, multiple public murals, the Little 5 Points Community Center, and a retail mix filled with fiercely independent businesses including tattoo shops, vintage clothing stores, record stores, a skateboarding shop, a cooperative grocery store, and multiple shops focused on spirituality and the metaphysical. This historic district is known as a welcoming, vibrant gathering space and is in the heart of two historic neighborhoods – Inman Park and Candler Park – whose residents helped not only revitalize the district but also prevented a highway from demolishing the area.

Recently, the City of Atlanta’s Future Places Project partnered with Historic Atlanta to complete a Historic Context Statement for LGBTQ+ history that includes sites in L5P, and previous Councilmember Farokhi developed an Arts & Culture plan for District 2.

Peace Wall Redux

The Alliance recently collaborated with renowned graffiti artist Mr. Totem to create the new Peace Wall Redux at 422 Seminole Avenue. This artwork merges the protest and community activist identity of Little 5 Points' past with today’s street culture. The mural's creation process was highly representative of the Little 5 Points community and reflects the collaborative approach of the Alliance.

Arts & Culture Guidebook

In 2025 the L5P Alliance and CID approached ARC about creating an Arts & Culture plan that could help both document the conditions that shaped Little 5 Points’ past and identify strategies to preserve our rich cultural identity into the future. Together over a 6 month period we pulled together property owners, business owners, and residents to create a shared vision of what “arts & culture” means in the Little 5 Points community and how it can help inform future decisions around key issues like development, business recruitment, programming, infrastructure improvements, and more.

The final product is the first ever "Little 5 Points Arts & Culture Guide Book. This project was funded through ARC’s Community Development Assistance Program (CDAP) and financial contributions from Councilmembers Amir Farokhi and Matt Westmoreland.
