PUBLIC SAFETY IN L5P

The Little 5 Points Alliance recognizes that safety is the #1 priority of all L5P stakeholders. While the Little 5 Points district prides itself on being a welcoming community for everyone, we do not accept illegal behavior. Free expression and nonconformity do not equate to tolerance of crime. Our Public Safety & Quality of Life Committee’s goal is to create a welcoming and safe environment for all (employees, visitors, property owners, etc.)

We also need the support of individuals to call 311 if they see someone in need of support or a security hazard and to call 911 when observing any illegal activity. Please share your experience doing so through our L5P Security Incident Form so we can track responses.

  • The Alliance partners with the L5P Improvement District and the L5P Business Association to fund Atlanta Police Department officer, Sgt. Stenson, on a weekly basis to patrol within the district. Together we help prevent property damage, drug sales, shoplifting, and more.

  • With major support from the City of Atlanta and individual donors, the L5P Alliance was able to hire an Intown Cares case worker in 2025. Jordan Smith serves both Little 5 Points and Kirkwood to provide support for those experiencing long-term homelessness. Interested in meeting Jordan? Her office hours are every Tuesday from 10 am to 12 pm at 7 Stages Theatre.

  • Georgia Works supports chronically homeless men by helping them overcome barriers and become productive and self-sufficient individuals. Georgia Works participants are provided housing and an opportunity to participate in transitional paid work. In Little 5 Points Georgia Works helps clean the district twice a week.

  • The Alliance funds the maintenance and cleaning of a portable restroom on Seminole Avenue to provide a place for those who have nowhere else to go. This helps reduce sanitary issues in front of businesses.
