CID Applies for ARC Funding

Little 5 Points CID Applies for Moreland/Dekalb Funding

One of the main roles of the Little 5 Points Community Improvement District is to access state and federal funding for our many public infrastructure projects. Recently, the L5P CID applied for preliminary engineering funding through the Atlanta Regional Commission. These funds are meant solely for projects that have previously been identified through one of ARC’s Livable Centers Initiative Plans.
The L5P CID previously secured funding to hire Lord Aeck Sargent to develop the recently completed Little 5 Mobility Study, which includes multiple mobility improvements including a major overhaul of Euclid Avenue, a bikeway through Davis Plaza, wayfinding that better connects the district to multiple transportation nodes like MARTA, the BeltLine, and the PATH, and more. One of the projects identified in this study is an overhaul of the intersection of Moreland and Dekalb.

More commonly known as the Dekalb Ave “jug handles,” these highway ramps have long felt out of place in our pedestrian focused district and neighborhoods. The CID has applied for funding to look at the engineering possibilities of this intersection and to consider ways to make this connection safer for all users.
