City of Atlanta Bidding & Project Management

  • Jan 2019: Initial estimate from Renew Atlanta is $659,967.53.

  • Oct 2019: Renew Atlanta estimate rises to $880,000.

  • Dec 2019: Findley Plaza grouped with another Inman Park project to improve bidding process.

  • Feb 2020: Plaza grouped with a third project to reduce costs.

  • Apr 2020: Findley Plaza advertised with incomplete documents.

  • July 2020: Findley Plaza readvertised.

  • Oct 2020: Bids received in the amount of $1,171,046.70 and $1,033,425.98. Cost overruns in grading complete, mobilization, and traffic control add between $300k and $400k – all administrative costs that vendors add in for City bids.

  • Oct 2020: City recommends open bidding process for more competitive bids.

  • Nov 2020: Pond works with the City of Atlanta to adjust bid documents.

  • May 2025: City Council creates new ordinance around tree recompense that triggers new process for permit approval through the Office of Buildings and City Arborist.
